MATANTIMALI- PALU- INDONESIA
Indonesia is the world’s most expansive archipelago containts 13,677 island, stretching almost 5000 km from Sabang off the northern tip of Sumatra, to a little beyond Merauke in southeastern Papua. It extend north and south of the equator for a total 1770 km. The five main islands are Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua.
Palu, the capital of Central Sulawesi, situated in a rain shadow for most of the year , with a north south orientation valley, making this area one of the driest places in Indonesia.
Matantimali Indonesia Open Paragliding Competition 2011 is an international friendly paragliding cross country competition held on aprill at sites in around Gawalise Mountain and Palu valley of Central Sulawesi, east part of Indonesia region.
Sponsored by local goverment and Province of Central Sulawesi, the event is organised by the Hang gliding association of Indonesian and local Club Maleo Paragliding, with further support by Donggala regional authorities.
Matantimali Indonesia Open Paragliding Competition 2011 is first held in Matan Timali, Palu , Central Sulawesi Indonesia ,
Matantimali is a potential area for paragliding cross country, the different height from Take off and official landing is around 1000m.
We have been promoting this site is suitable for international and national championship event.
The entry fee for pre-registered competing pilots will be just 100 euros, which will include transport to launch, retrieves and entry to all the organised events,
Registration will be open on April 7, 2011 and will be closed on June 15, 2011. Registration fee: 100 euros, must be paid before June 10, 2011
